From Fall 2006, this was a mid semester assignment where we had to stray from our design process and develop a 2D sketch, completely detached from any of our 3D sketches, progressivley in 3 stages. This was the second iteration. |

Vintage fall '06. More of the mountain of homework assignment... Many of which have yet to be scanned.

I often-times wonder about style and how hard it is, for me at least, to break away from it. Is it something I should strive to do, or is it OK to just revel in it and become more of my style than I already am? I haven't figured it out yet. |

This is another of the hundreds of drawings I did in transportation design. The fall '06 semester, where this drawing was taken from, relied on abstract sculptures as the inspiration for the vehicle. The sculptures were quick sketches, done without the thought of a vehicle, so they can look very un-car like.
I messed the scan up, so it's a little burned out. |

Well, it's time to settle into a "normal" life after the last 2 stressful years back in school. Just to show anybody out there who might be watchin or was ever slightly interested, I'm going to post some stuff from my time in the black hole.

This is a drawing from a transportation design class at Pratt, fall 2007. This would have been 1 of 3-6 drawings we had to do between a class. |

Headline:"A Heartbreaking Memoir: Anderson Cooper The Shock of his brother's suicide, The horror of Katrina" OK, Holy Shit. I saw this magazine on the racks when I was milling about Penn Station waiting for the train to Baltimore. Dude is on the verge of tears! This guy must be totally evil to agree to, or think this act up, on his own. Did he rub chili peppers in his eyes or just sit for a while and think about strangling puppy dogs to get the puffy eyes going? I can't believe he's actually crying over his brother or Katrina, because if he really gave a shit, I don't think he'd be pulling this sensational/ opportunistic bullshit. But, why pass up the chance to sell hundreds of thousands of extra copies of Vanity Fair, get a cut of the extra take, and maneuver for the jump to prime time network news? Should I be getting mad over stuff like this? Probably not, but I just can't help it. |

Long time no post, my neglected journal.
I am sitting here trying to figure what I will do for my next submission to the Static Fish comic book. And all I'm doing is mostly sitting. So here is my first submission from October. I need to finish the new one asap or I will be overloaded with new projects and will not get this luxury done. |

I want to live in the place under the roof where I took this shot, but it's probably not the most practical choice... Far from campus and over my budget. The motorcycle ride would be great though and the view is fantastic. Another weekend and it's only harder to choose. |

Kittiya just defended her dissertation on Monday, and the end to many years of research, and a few months of insane writing is here... At least until the next thing. She did well and all members seemed genuinely interested in her paper. I am still blown away that she was able to crank out 300 or so pages in a few months. I hope the help I offered was actually helpful. Now, it's time to turn our attention to 2 moves... Mine to Brooklyn and her's to New Orleans. Tomorrow is my last day at T. Rowe Price and now I must drop back into the pool of part-time, freelance work, while going to school. I hope there's stuff that fits into my schedule or maybe I can actually teach myself how to make some decent illustrations that I could sell. This is going to be a long summer.

Initial impressions of "Illinois" by Sufjan Stevens.
"Michigan" was one of my favorite albums of 2003 and I was waiting with anticipation for Illinois to drop. I've had it for a few days now, listened to it several times through and, although I can by no means give definitive comments, I'm ready to say a few things.
Illinois almost seems like it could have been recorded along with Michigan, as the songs have a very similar feel to them. This similarity is sometimes comforting or effective and other times off-putting as some of the melodies seem to be derivative or dumbed down versions of ones from Michigan (This manifests itself most strongly to me in some bland lyrics and melodies in a few of the songs). It works other times when a new song starts by building steam from a song on "M" and then goes off on its own fantastic direction. There are some great melodies peppered about, but, as of now, I don't feel it's as strong as "M." It fills up a whole CD and has 20+ songs, so it's going to take a while to digest it all. I am still excited about it though, so that's a good sign.
